Some earlier XL-5 models used 5x8x4mm bearings.  Current generations use 5x11x4mm bushings or bearings.  These will not be compatible with earlier models or the Bandit XL-5 unless you switch to the Traxxas 3752 stub axle carriers and 3736 steering blocks.
