SELF OPENING DOOR HINGE SPRING REVERSE ACTING

Description

These are 3 torsional springs that when installed on your existing door hinges will keep the door from drifting closed.  I had a bathroom door that always tended to drift closed.  This annoyed us for years.  Most spring assisted hinges are designed to close the door, not hold it open or keep it from drifting closed.  I came up with this solution, and it works.
There are not many options out there for this type of problem. The springs install easily on the door hinge pins as shown in the photos.  Fit both 1/2" and 5/8" radius hinges.
I recently made an improvement to the springs by adding a polyolefin heat shrink covering to the spring legs to protect your door and door jam.  The lead picture shows the springs with the covering.

Three springs are included, but you may only need to install one or two springs on your door depending on the degree of correction desired.
Installation tip:  Leave a small gap between the top of the spring and the hinge pin top to allow the spring freedom to move (about 1/32" gap is all that is needed).
