In Tuareg society women and men wear the veil. Wearing the indigo blue colored veil called Alasho as a facial covering originates from the belief that the veil wards off evil spirits. This is a handmade aluminum  metal Tuareg tribally crafted veil pin which was also, worn in the hair as a hair pin by the women. This Tuareg metal hair pin measures 5 inches long by 2.15 inches wide and is very lightweight.
Great condition with slight scratches on the back.
